Revep is the third collaborative album by Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto and German electronic artist Carsten Nicolai as Alva Noto. Revolving around a new arrangement of Sakamoto’s classic ‘Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence’, this third outing for Carsten Nicolai and Ryuichi Sakamoto was released in 2006 as part of the Virus Series. Revep is considered another indispensable record from the two artists’ ongoing collaboration – deeply evocative and effortlessly colliding worlds of analogue beauty and digital disruption.
