NOTON is pleased to announce the release of Alva Noto’s Wave Wave - Sono Obi, a two-track EP born from Carsten Nicolai’s 2025 collaboration and exhibition with Hosoo, Kyoto’s historic Nishijin-ori textile studio.
The exhibition features two interrelated works exploring textile and sound. The composition Wave Weave captures the rhythm of Hosoo’s looms through video and synchronized electronic sound. The recording Sono Obi Landscape transforms electronic music into sonograms, which are interpreted as textile patterns.
